Teaching Policies
Diversified Teaching :
The program intends to enhance students' basic and advanced language skills, motivation and interest by means of role-play, group-discussions, audio-visual teaching aids, and videos.
Proficiency-Based Teaching :
In their second and third years of junior college, students are placed in different English Conversation and Writing classes according to the level they have attained.
Language Learning Activities :
The department holds on-campus language learning activities every year, such as English and Japanese Singing Contests, English Speech Contests… etc.
Overseas Language Research and Study Program :
The department organizes Study Trips to the US, UK and Japan every summer. The program offers students a short-term course at an overseas sister school. The foreign language exposure builds up the students' learning enthusiasm and broadens their international vision.
Facilities
In order to improve the teaching quality of the faculty and learning performance of the students, we provide facilities including several different kinds of language laboratories, a multimedia center, computers, situational teaching, graduation projects and self-study rooms. We have also established software for online English and Japanese learning, and a wide selection of Chinese and English books and magazines.
Future Prospects
Career Opportunities:Students take on jobs in their chosen fields based on their expertise and interests; e.g. document and data processing, secretarial services, aviation services, travel and tourism, domestic and foreign trading, teaching English to children, etc..
Further Studies:Students may take the entrance exams for admission into two-year college program or directly apply for overseas study.
